Terms and Conditions

By fully completing and submitting the Big Tech News Survey you will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win £100 GBP, bound by the following terms and conditions:

  1. Governance:
    • The Promoter of this prize draw is All The Citizens Ltd, The Old Workshop, 1 Ecclesall Road South, Sheffield, United Kingdom, S11 9PA.
    • These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
  2. Eligibility:
    • The prize draw is open to individuals aged 18 years or over who complete the online survey in full.
    • Only one entry is permitted per person. Multiple submissions of the same survey or from the same person will not result in additional entries into the prize draw.
    • Employees of The Citizens and People vs Big Tech, their families, and anyone else professionally connected with this prize draw are not eligible to enter.
    • Entrants must have a valid bank account to receive the prize.
  3. Entry Period:
    • The prize draw is open for submissions from 5:00 PM GMT on Thursday, 3rd October, 2024 and closes at 5:00 PM GMT on Friday, 25th October, 2024. Entries received outside this time period will not be considered. 
  4. How to Enter:
    • Entrants will be automatically entered into the prize draw when they complete and submit the online survey within the specified time period.
    • No purchase or payment is necessary to enter.
  5. Selection of Winner:
    • One winner will be selected at random from all valid entries.
    • The draw will be performed by a random computer process, administered by The Citizens and under the supervision of an independent witness. Each entrant will be assigned a unique number upon submission, and the winning number will be determined using a random number generator.
    • The draw will take place on Monday, 28th October, 2024, and the decision is final.
  6. Notification of Winner:
    • The winner will be notified via the email address provided at the time of survey submission by 5:00 PM GMT on Monday, 28th October, 2024.
    • Only the winner will be contacted. No further correspondence regarding the draw results will be entered into.
    • The winner must respond to the notification email within 60 calendar days to claim their prize. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the prize, and The Citizens reserves the right to select an alternative winner in accordance with the process described above.
    • If a winner rejects their prize or the entry is invalid or in breach of these terms and conditions, the winner’s prize will be forfeited, and the promoter shall be entitled to select another winner.
  7. Prize:
    • The prize is £100 GBP, which will be paid via bank transfer to a valid bank account.
    • Entrants do not need to be resident in the UK, or hold a UK bank account to participate, however the £100 GBP prize is the gross amount, there is no non-sterling equivalent and any fees or charges levied in respect of the transfer of that amount or its conversion into a non-sterling currency will be borne by the winner of the prize and not reimbursed or grossed up by the Citizens.
    • If the winner chooses a charitable donation, then proof of the donation will be sent to the winner by email. The prize will be sent to the winner within 7 days of the winner being notified. 
    • The promoter accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with the prize and not specifically included in the prize.
    • The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no alternative (cash or otherwise) is offered.
    • The winner will bear sole responsibility for ensuring that any tax obligations are complied with.  
  8. Data Protection:
    • By entering the prize draw, you agree to the collection, retention, usage and distribution of your personal information in order to process and contact you about your Prize Draw entry.
    • The Citizens will handle all personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.
    • Personal data provided for the purpose of the prize draw will only be used to administer the draw and notify the winner. It will not be used for any other purpose without explicit consent, as noted on the survey, unless required by law.
  9. General:
    • The Citizens reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the prize draw if circumstances arise outside of its control.
    • If for any reason any aspect of this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion or invalidate any affected entries, where required.
    • In the event of any dispute regarding the prize draw, The Citizens’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
    • The Promoter and its associated organisations accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering this prize draw or accepting the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum amount allowable by law.
    • Participants in the prize draw are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and Conditions upon entry. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and Conditions.
